“Live from New York, it’s Henry Segerstrom”

06.07.10

Last night, Henry Segerstrom received a Carnegie Hall Medal of Excellence at the Waldorf Astoria in NYC. Mr. Segerstrom, developer of South Coast Plaza and founding chairman of the OC Performing Arts Center and the Segerstrom Center for the Arts was honored for his lifetime of commitment to the arts. This season’s bicoastal partnership between Carnegie Hall and the Segerstrom Center marked the first time in its 120-year history that Carnegie Hall has partnered with a performing arts center outside of New York!

You can watch a video of the event here.

No Doubt About It

06.07.10

One more reason to love OC’s No Doubt. They’re auctioning off costumes and vintage memorabilia for charity. All proceeds will be shared between the following four charities hand-selected by No Doubt: Animal Acres - a paradise for farmed animals and the people who love them; charity: water - a non-profit organization bringing clean, safe drinking water to people in developing nations; and The ALS Association - encourages scientific research to find a cure for ALS (also known as “Lou Gehrig’s disease”); and CHOC (Children’s Hospital of Orange County) that’s providing preventive medical care, education, and state-of-the-art pediatric biomedical research. The auction is live through June 11.
